Has nothing do do with diplomatic relations. It's the language that causes the barrier. That's why for example Portugal never one either. And that's why English and French songs have often won. That's also why the balkan countries give each other points. Because their languages are very much alike. Not many people understand hebrew so..... Same goes for Portugal. Be fair, Israel is one of the best esc nations, without them it wouldnt be the same. And they are members of EBU (European Brodcasting Union), so they have a legal right to participate as much as Greece has. Serbia loves Greece and Israel cheers.
