Authorities in South Ossetia say Georgian troops have shelled the road being used for evacuating people from the conflict zone, according to Russian Interfax news agency. Attacks are continuing in the South Ossetian region, despite claims from Georgia that it was imposing a ceasefire.

What makes you think Putin or Russia want to 'invade' anybody? Name a country which Russia has invaded in pre- emptive war, within the last 20 years. Even they were was the USSR, they always held defensive postures. You need to brush up on your history.

Actually, name a country which Russia has pre-emptively attacked first and occupied , in the last 50 years. The biggest threat they were was in the Cuban Missile crisis, and the funding of Castro, etc. Since then, other than defensive posturing in the Afghan Wars, they haven't done shit. While the US has been in more than a dozen wars in 50 years, and occupied or have troops in over 120 countries, and are currently occupying two countries in ground wars. So you think Russia is the 'bad guy'?
