My first introduction to this song came on an album called 'Greek Town USA', which was recorded in the nightclubs and cabarets that once lined New York's 8th Avenue in the 50's and 60's. It was sung by a singer named Sevas Hanoum, and Eleni Arvanitaki's voice is so incredibly close to hers that it's eerie. Also, the bouzoukee player here plays the same taksim exactly as the original. Thank you SO much for posting this. It's great!
