that's completely unreasonable, he makes it look like i can do it. then i looked up how difficult 5.14d was, since i climb on the australian system :P how do you do that? i swear it can't actually be humanly possible to be able to do that :P

Ummm, it is called climbing rope, a harness, and a figure eight knot.
With that combo, you can take a 40ft lead whipper and be fine unless he hits the face.

hehe i know that it's possible to do that and take falls like that, i've done a bit of outdoor leading myself and taken some semi-mean falls, i meant being able to stick some of those holds... just incredible :P

can somebody help me :) i just started climbing and i do now 6a, when you do lead climbing how do you get your rope back when your done? thx :P

the way to get your rope and quick draws back is to set up a top rope through the chains. do this by clipping yourself into the chains using quick draws, go off belay, removing the quick draws holding the rope, untie your self from the rope, thread the rope through the ends of the chains, retie yourself back in, go back on belay, remove the quick draws holding you to the chain, lower to each quick draw and pick them up, and pull your rope through when you get to the bottom.

At the top of most climbs there is a set of chains, or special extra large bolts. You can clip your harness straight to this anchor , untie the rope, feed the rope end though the the chains, tie back into the rope and lower off.
One quick note: please don't top rope with the rope fed through the chains as this wears out the anchors. Use two quick draws with opposing gates or better yet locking carabinesrs.

The American grades are a bit draft, its just the numbers 1-14 will a 5 in front of every grade. :S
