im not sure which island it originated on but was founded in 1897 and is the system of the Tortal family...it was later developed and improved by Conrado Tortal in the 1930s and he was from panay...hope this info is any use to you deviousmonk..

the Philippino arts are street lethal. its a well rounded system with strikes, submissions, and weapons. also the weapons are things you actually run into (no nun chucks or katanas). plust you can turn anything into a stick (a magazine, a pipe, a flashlight). More than worth learning.
