Why should the whole colour-thing only be based on humans with their skincolour?
Disney teaches you the valuable lesson to find in love with a person who fits your personal desires. Whatever skincolour that may be.. Centaurs just do it their own way ;)

The fat guy does seem to make a mockery of the music somewhat. I think Beethoven was much more realistic in his musical imagery (is there such a thing) at least that is the way I always imagined the imagery. But as with all art I guess even this piece is open to interpretation. The animation does portray the light heartedness that Beethoven wrote into his music.

I first saw this in the 1963 theater re-release. I was aged 7. When I saw the movie again in about 1977 (the first primitive stereo restoration), the only thing I remembered from the first viewing were those danged centaurs. Not Mickey. Not the Elephant Hippo Ballet. Not the nuns. Memory can be so selective.
