Maybe it was the weight loss. Maybe (though some of her greatest interpretations came immediately AFTER the weight loss). I have always wondered if her more "delicate" nose didn't have more to do with. A singer needs proper resonating chambers as much as his or her vocal chords.

you should first learn to spell her name:it is Callas, with a and not Calles with e.And after that, you should hear singers like Gina Cigna,Renata Tebaldi,Carla Gavazzi,Marcella Pobbe and Elisabetta Barbato.Every wise person knows that Callas was a "prima inter pares", but not better as her female colleagues during her time.The only thing she had, was the "fuoco sacro" on the stage, and a very high level of perfectionism.She was great.But not better as Marcella De Osma for example...

omg I heard this song in an airplane about two weeks ago! I couldn't remember the name and it was pissing me off. But I think the dude sitting next to me was even more pissed off because I was humming this song pretty loud. This woman has a powerful voice. Great piece!!
