The total cost of this apparently benevolent project have probably exceeded millions of dollars. Wouldn't it be better served building simple book libraries in developing nations? You know, a book (Those series of pages with black squigly lines) is a proven technology for thousands of years.
With 100 dollars we can buy 100 books for a kid.The laptops are sold to governments.(from "OLPC" in wikipedia) Why should my govt spend millions for your American idea of tech education?
OR as we feed them we can at least make some effort to inspire them to use their brains and find their own ways of providing for themselves, leading to the day when they won't need any help. This project is just one step towards that, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
