Pits are some of the most amazing and some of the most gentil dogs that I know. It is the owners ignorance and stupidity that pushes these dogs over the edge. We have inbred these dogs so much that some have mental problems. Humans are the monsters not the dogs

From my point of view anyone can turn on anyone and anything at any time not just dogs, humans do the same thing. The only reason pitbulls are so "Viscious" is because the way they are bred not all pitbulls are the same, my Pitbull can tell you that.

If anyone even dreams of banning my dogs, I'm outta here. My dog Ginger is a mixed breed that bears a slight resemblance to a wolf, and people have commented on her teeth. Ginger would not hurt a fly. My sister has two pits, one who was abandoned and abused, who she took off the street. He's the sweetest, gentlest creature I've ever met, and my sister can let her infant daughter play around him without the slightest bit of fear. Punish the deed, not the breed!

Pit bulls CAN be great with children! Sometimes they make perfect nanny dogs. :) It depends on the individual dog though. I met a pit bull named Shasta. I use to call her a pushy little princess because she had a very dominant personality. I would not trust her with a child for that reason. On the other hand, my cousin's pit bull mix is GREAT with her kids, because he is submissive by nature. It has nothing to do with breed, and I wish people would see that. :(

Fuck the pathetic human beings That do this. i've rescued over 50 pitbulls and a few have come from fights and ive had my ass beat for taking the dogs and bitten while working with them but now their friendly and good dags

Awesome job on this video. I used to have a prejudice against pit bulls (though I certainly could never hurt one like in those pictures), but I've been changing my attitude in the past few years. I'm still nervous about them, but I've come to understand that it's not the dog, it's the OWNER. Thank you for helping to open people's eyes.

at minute 3:45, this person does not indicate what "study" he cites. The US Centers for Disease Control's statistics indicate that Pit Bulls account for more attacks resulting in death than any other breed. Even Rottweillers were a distant second. The CDC's report samples from 1979-1999, a period when Pit Bulls were not nearly as popular than now.

I focus on the empirical evidence. The damage reports speak for themselves. As someone who was raised in the pet industry, I'd like to kindly ask you all to leave your Pit Bulls at home when you visit your local store for supplies. I'm sure we're all impressed with your dogs and tatoos, but please leave them properly restrained at home.

THe pitbull is the fourth highest ranked dog for temperment testing. German shepards are way lower. Plus, why do pitbull owner have to have tatoos? Why are you stereotyping pitbulls? THis is why people won't understand it.Pitbulls were started by white people, plus most dog bites aren't repeorted and are believed to be by mostly chiuaiuas, poodles, and other lap dogs. It is only pitbull atacks that are reported, just for media ratings.

I agree that owners should be punished. I emailed several internet sites that are opposed to breed specific legislation. All these sites had the tagline "Punish the deed, not the breed". I asked what actions they had taken to ensure owners of dogs that have attacked others are properly punished. I unhappily report that I have received no responses to my emails. I hope they're too busy pursuing criminal penalty legislation and aren't just hypocrites.

I think our biggest problem is generalization.We put a stereotype to EVERYTHING, its pathetic. If you look at it, Pit Bulls were not bred to be vicious towards humans. Back in the day, they were the ideal family pet. IMO,they are reflecting what our world has become,and it isn't their fault, its ours. We're just too ignorant to see it.

I would like to point out a possible mistake that could have happened in the counting of dog bites by certain breeds of dogs. Sometimes people count the amounts of bites. And since there's more labs and cockers than APBTs, there are going to be more bites by labs. I still do believe that APBTs aren't treated right. Almost every bad thing surrounding them is a myth, probably made up from bad breeders who sell the dogs to fighters.

also, A lot of 'pit bull' attacks on the news aren't APBT , but mixes that they want to put a name on. Most of the dogs who attacked have zero APBT blood in them. Pit bull has just become a term for 'dangerous dog', I have a feeling.

Due to the fact that most pit bull owners will not report that their dog is a pit bull, the number of pit bulls known to be owned is extremely unreliable. Based on my own experience of simply observing the people that walk into Petsmart and such with their pet dog, I believe the pit bull is actually the most popular dog breed in the USA.

It's more that a feeling, there have actually been reports of dog attack victims being turned down as newsworthy because the breed was not pit bull, rottweiler, or doberman.
